SERVICES
Indiana County Links

Transportation for
Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Project

The goals of the PwD (Persons with a Disability) program are to provide a reduced fare shared ride service for persons who have a disability and are ages 18 to 64, living in Indiana County, and needing transportation to or from an area not served by existing transportation services.

Cost of Trips

  • The cost of a trip within Indiana Borough and White Township is $2.60 each way.
  • Trips outside of the borough or township (but within the county) are $2.85 each way.
  • Trips to Pittsburgh are $7.50 each way and only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Only appointments to medical providers are permitted for the trips to Pittsburgh.
  • The cost of the trip can't be billed; riders must pay cash on the day of the trip.

Service Area

The transportation service will be provided through the Indiana County Shared Ride Program. Trips will be provided within the county; the only exceptions are Tuesday and Thursday trips to Pittsburgh for medical appointments. Call for details on all Pittsburgh trips.

Where You Can Go

The PwD program helps people go to medical appointments, shopping, recreational activities, jobs, and appointments at social service agencies.

How to Schedule a Ride

Appointments must be called into the Scheduler no later than 2 p.m. one business day prior to the appointments.

Callers are encouraged to call several days in advance when possible.
